Fairy Camp with the Hippies

Ella had her first day at Fairy camp. It is held at the School Around Us. A holistic private school that always puts on a fantastic Craft Fair. The teacher is a kind, gentle, woman and Ella said she is not mean at all. She learned that there are a lot of different kinds of fairies, animal fairies, good fairies, bad fairies...She learned that you wear a mixture of water and rosemary on your skin and it will keep bad fairies away. We decided it is a good thing we have a planter full of rosemary at our door.

Ella is decorating the cover to her journal. That is her with her fairy wings and lots of lovely decorations.

This is a fun project that anyone can do on a rainy day. The kids made Fairy Offering plates. They painted and then glued on a lot of different found plant and flower decorations. You leave the plate outside and put a tiny piece of blueberry or strawberry for the fairies. Just a tiny piece because Fairies do not eat much. The fairies will come and leave a special treat for you, a stone, or shell. And at somepoint they make take the plate back to their fairy home to decorate their walls with them. (Hint, that is what you tell the kids when it is time to throw it out)
Ella was out the door this morning with Fairy wings in hand and ready for lots of Fairy excitement and magic.
Also I got to hear one of the books they read. It was called Nobody rides the Unicorn. It was a wondeful book. Highly recommend it.

What a cool school, but I bet their football team isn't that good. Seriously though, that's awesome!

So cute. What people think of as leprechauns in Ireland are called the fairies over there. I wonder if they'll talk about international fairy beliefs.
