PTO Halloween Party

Tonight was Ella's school's Halloween Party. Very fun alternative for us. There are no real neighborhoods for trick or treating. So the PTO sets up games around the gym staffed by Middle School kids and there is even a haunted house. The kids all show up in costumes and when you play the games you get candy. We were happy that Grandpa and Meme could join us for the festivities. So we all went and when the rest of us were pooped and Ella was revving up with the excitement of finding friends we left her in the able hands of some friends. The rest of us escaped the madness.
And headed home...

Have you seen this man?

He is probably the cutest man I have ever layed eyes on...
He works in a t.v. truck...
He is known to get a little excited from time to time...
He is "almost" as sexy as this gnome...
He likes to play with trucks and diggers...
He is a fantastic father...
Leading his daughters to be courageous, thoughtful, funny, happy, independent, booty shaking, little girls...
If you see this man, please be sure to tell him to have a happy birthday.
I love you Steve. Happy Birthday!

Oreo Cookie Nason

For a couple months now we talked about getting a dog to add to our family. We ultimately nixed that idea. We are not totally crazy! Just partially crazy-the girls and I with Steve's consent headed to downtown North Berwick to Another Chance Animal Rescue. Bunches of kitties available to love. All of them rescued. Oddly enough all of the kitties were either Black or had orange in them. Dressed for the season. This little fellow was named Marco Polo, but with his little bit of white on his chest and neck-we renamed him quickly to one of our favorite desserts-Oreo Cookie! He is settling in nicely. Meepers is oblivious so far. I hope that introduction goes smoothly. Otherwise-meet our newest member!

Some good t-shirts...

One of the fun things to this weekend was seeing the different things teams did for their attire. From angel wings to tu-tus to stuffed bras, there were many creative ideas expressed. I enjoyed the different t-shirts. This quote made me feel good when I read it at 6:30 in the morning the first day and I was standing there in my shorts shivering.Guess what-one of the women on this team was from Jersey...that one is for Therese and Colleen.
This one just cracked me up. My absolute favorite.

WE DID IT!

We walked and walked and walked this weekend! While we walked we laughed, shared life stories, and cried at the love and support we received by perfect strangers all along the way. Men with signs that read, "my mom would thank you." or pictures of a wife lost to this terrible disease. Families-mothers, fathers, children, sisters...all out to say thank you. I wish I could have recorded the women saying-"thank you for walking". It was said with such geniune gratitude that I swear I have never heard before. At closing ceremony, we saluted those survivors who walked the 60 miles by raising one of our sneakers. I watched balloons raise up to the sky. I cried. 4000 people walked through Atlanta this weekend. We raised 6.6 million dollars together. Fantastic.

Sarah and I at the end of the walk...Phew.

All the ladies. The Blister Sisters!!!!
I will write more later...still processing the whole thing.
I just know that I can not believe I did it, but it is one of the top ten moments of my life because of how unsure I was that I could do this. I met some fabulous women and they have forever made my life better.
